The Neural Representations Lab

Genela Morris

Throughout their lives, humans and animals must learn the consequences of different actions with very limited feedback. This job is further complicated by the need to find the correct goldilocks balance between specificity of the learnt task and generalization over different contexts. This flexibility in learning allows the richness of decision making repertoire we possess. In our lab, we study the underlying neural mechanism in different stages of this process. To do this, we combine theoretical, behavioral, and electrophysiological methods, and take advantage of the evergrowing set of genetic tools afforded by the rodent model.
